Baptisms

Thanks for getting in touch about baptism (also sometime called ‘Christening’) at Glen Innes Anglican Church.

Baptism is a simple ceremony of washing in water, practiced by Christians since the time of Jesus. It is a sign of turning to Jesus in trust. This trust is a recognition that it is only through the death and resurrection of Jesus for us that we are made right with God and made members of his family, the Church.

In the baptism service you will make a public declaration of your trust in Jesus and of your intention to live a life of obedience to him. In the case of an infant these promises are made by the parents and god-parents of the child.

To find out more about the process of preparing for a Baptism please contact our vicar, David on (02) 6732 5558.
